Classroom rules are put into place to ensure a safe and effective learning environment for all students. Therefore, classroom rules should be followed by ALL students at ALL times. If a student chooses not to follow the rules, necessary action will be taken to be sure that all students remain in an environment that is suitable for learning. Students will be given a verbal warning before being asked to flip their card.
Students will begin each day with a green card showing in their spot on the behavior chart. If a student chooses to misbehave, they will be asked to flip their card to yellow. If they continue to make incorrect choices, they will be asked to flip their card to orange, then red. In addition, if a student is showing exemplary behavior, they will be allowed to flip their card from green to blue.
Color codes for daily behavior management:
*Blue - GREAT!
*Green - Good
*Yellow - Warning
*Orange - Second warning (5 minutes off recess)
*Red - 10 minutes off recess/sad note home to parents
